I was reminded of a verse in Proverbs as I was stressed about issues in my business. Many times, when I have a problem I want solved, I wake up in the middle of the night with anxious, circular thoughts, and I can't get back to sleep. After some time, I usually pray about these and ask God for help. The verse that came to mind was Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and adds no sorrow with it.
I have been blessed with success in business, but the stress can sometimes get to me. Another translation uses the word "grief" in place of sorrow. The issues that cause me the most grief are dealing with employees. Can I have the blessing of owning a business with no grief? As a follower of God, I consider his word true. I consider the Bible to be God's word, but I also hear his words in my heart. Sometimes they come as scripture and other times, just a thought.
As I pondered this verse, I thought of another in Mathew 7:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
My plan is to pray these verses as God's promise to me, leave my stress in his hands, and trust that he will bless me and add no grief. You could try this as well. Even better, ask God for a fresh word or answer, just for you, then use that word in prayer.
